Provides quick results in an anaerobic environment. This test is used to validate if a material can convert to methane (biogas) by replicating the environment found in an anaerobic digester or landfill bioreactor.
Provides realistic results of how fast a material could convert to biogas (methane) in the conditions found in municipal landfills. This is a long term test that replicates the landfill environment and provides realistic results of what to expect in real life situations.
BIO METHANE POTENTIAL
Provides rapid indication of how much biogas (Methane) a material has the potential to produce in an anaerobic environment. This test determines if a material is able to be converted into biogas with an environment with no/limited oxygen and limited light.
CUSTOMER CASE STUDY
A snack food company with mindful snacking at its core struggled to find a suitable package that would demonstrate its commitment to sustainability to their retailers and consumers. Enter NEO Plastics. NEO developed a package which would meet the brands’ sustainability goals while maintaining shelf life and on-shelf presence. The result is a packaging structure combining NEO + PP Films into a NEO BOPP / NEO Met BOPP structure. ASTM 5511 test results show a 33.4% degradation in a simulated landfill environment after 451 days.
